The Venues Collection launches The Vibes Awards

Our unique awards programme celebrates the people that power events. Nominate an event professional with ‘good vibes’ today!

The word is out. Good vibes are in!

The business of events is one built on people, where fostering connections and sharing knowledge lead to important economic and social outcomes.

Bringing people together and creating an environment that is conducive to building meaningful relationships is no mean feat. At The Venues Collection we recognise the hardworking professionals that power Australia’s business events industry and to celebrate their unique set of skills we’ve launched The Vibes Awards.

The Vibes Awards by The Venues Collection aim to recognise event professionals who are invested in the longevity and future of the industry. They are people people – they embody team spirit and have mastered the art of keeping calm under pressure while developing event strategy and managing logistics. They also support the development of future talent and are advocates for the industry at large.

“The Vibes Awards by The Venues Collection celebrate the distinct DNA ­– the creativity, flair, leadership and grit – that so many event professionals embody,” said Christopher Drivas, CEO of The Venues Collection.

“Across our nine venues and restaurants in Sydney, we work with these incredible professionals every day and their unique traits – what we call ‘vibes’ – are often the secret behind a successful event.”

Drivas added: “Face-to-face meetings and events are coming back thick and fast, but the post-Covid talent shortage in our industry means event professionals are working harder than ever, often with shorter lead times and tighter budgets. To thrive in this environment, and to ensure all team members and stakeholders succeed, takes a truly unique set of skills. That’s why now is the time to recognise and celebrate the passion that drives our industry forward.”

If you know an event professional with vibes worth celebrating – whether it’s your manager, colleague, mentor or client ­– nominate them here before Monday 27 August 2023.

Whether it’s a newcomer, future leader or industry veteran, any corporate, agency or association-based event professional in Australiacan be nominated for an award.

All nominations will be verified and carefully considered by a jury of leading event professionals, known as Vibe Ambassadors. The jury is comprised of:

Award winners will be announced at The Vibes Party held at Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores on Wednesday, 06 Sep 2023. Tickets to the event are by invitation only. Qualified finalists and their nominators will receive an invitation to the event.
